The latest piece of fan art comes from Twitter user ioannes747, who drew many of the female Mortal Kombat characters in the Disney Princess style. Mortal Princesses includes more than just the characters players have seen in Mortal Kombat 11 as longtime fans will likely recognize Ferra, Nitara, Li Mei, Tanya, Khameleon, and more from the franchise’s long history.

While the artwork features more than a few deep cuts from the franchise, the character design helps to make it easier to identify which Disney princess is used for each fighter.  For example, Ferra appears to be based on Wreck It Ralph’s Vanellope von Schweetz, and Sindel took inspiration from Queen Elsa from Frozen, while Kitana is sporting a Mulan inspired look. Fans will also recognize the likes of Jasmine, Cinderella, and much more.

The art has been making the rounds online and has even made its way to NetherRealm Studios directly with creative director Ed Boon commenting on the amazing work and referring to it as Disney Kombat. Other developers at the studio including Derek Kirtzic and Dominic Cianciolo also acknowledged the artwork through retweets of their own.

While fans continue to lament the absence of some of their favorite characters from this current Mortal Kombat 11 roster, Ed Boon and NetherRealm Studios have been providing ongoing teases at some of the other fighters coming in the first Kombat Pack. Fans have already gotten very brief glimpses of Sindel and Nightwolf through official artwork, though rumors continue to swirl around the remaining spots in the DLC pack. Although debunked by actor Bruce Campbell in the past, new leaks and rumors continue to indicate that Ash Williams may be joining the Mortal Kombat 11 roster at some point in the future.

Mortal Kombat 11 is out now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One, with a Stadia version also in development.
