Australia coach Mickey Arthur has hinted at paceman Ryan Harris’s return to the Australian playing eleven for the third Test beginning Friday at Perth.

Harris, who has recovered from the hip injury he suffered in South Africa, is a strong contender for Perth after James Pattinson injured his foot at Sydney and has been ruled out for the remainder of the series.

Arthur said the team management decided not to risk Harris at Sydney but now he is fully ready to bowl at the WACA.

“We have a proven Test bowler (Harris) waiting in the wings, ready to go. We have put a lot of work into Ryan over the last two weeks, he was close to getting a game in Sydney, but we felt that he hadn’t had enough work. We have put that work into him and we are satisfied with that. If he is selected, he is ready for Perth,” said Arthur in a media interaction here.

Cricket Australia have also included Mitchell Starc in the Perth squad.

On the WACA pitch,Arthur said: “While the Sydney wicket and Adelaide most resemble the sub-continent (wickets), the WACA pitch is going to be totally different. There will be a lot of pace, a lot of bounce in the WACA wicket, so it will be interesting to see how they (India) go there.”

Australia lead the four-match series 2-0 and need only a draw at Perth to win the series.
